Our statement.

Vraym considers a careful processing of personal data to be of the utmost importance. We take great care to process personal data in accordance with the law and to secure all data processing. We adhere to the requirements of the Dutch and other applicable data processing laws. Because our processing is exempt, we have not registered with the Dutch Data Processing Authority (College Bescherming Persoonsgegevens).

In this privacy statement we explain which personal data we collect and use and for which purpose. We recommend to read it carefully.

Use of personal data.

By using our service you provide us with certain data, which could be personal data. We store and use only the personal data you directly provide and the data for which it is clear during provision that we will use it.

More in particular we collect personal data when you use the site to upload videos or to place Vrayms (text messages) or when you enter profile data.

While you can use our service as a company, company data is not "personal data" in the meaning of the law. This privacy statement is primarily aimed at private individuals (including employees) who use the service.

Automatic collection of information.

When you visit our site, we automatically collect certain information about jecomputer or mobile device. For example, we collect the session data, including your IP address, the navigation software you use and the referring site. We may also collect information about your online activities, such as the content you view, the pages you visit and your searches. We collect this type of information to better understand your interests and preferences, or to make your experience more personal.

Geolocation and other information received from your mobile devices.

When you use the Vraym website on your mobile device, we may collect and use your information, usually in the same way and for the same purposes as when using our desktop website. In addition, with or without your consent we can collect information about location (IP address), if your mobile device is configured to send that type of information to the Vraym website (see the privacy settings of mobile device).

We can use this information, for example, to recommend your videos from your environment. You can change the privacy settings of the mobile device at any time and disable the location data sharing feature with the Vraym website. Disabling the sharing of location data may, however, affect certain functions of the website. Consult the manufacturer of your mobile device for help with privacy settings.

Newsletter, e-mail notifications and contact form.

We offer a newsletter with which we inform interested parties about our products and services. Your e-mail address is added to the newsletter only with your explicit consent. Every newsletter provides a hyperlink with which you can cancel your subscription.

From time to time we send out notifications about the service by e-mail. You can stop these notifications through your account settings.

If you submit a contact form on the site or send us an e-mail the data you send is retained for as long as necessary for the purpose of the contact form or e-mail.

We collect your:

  • Name and address information.
  • Telephone number.
  • E-mail address.
  • Date of birth.

We can contact you through social media (e.g. Facebook or Twitter) for commercial purposes. You can always opt-out from such messages.


Certain parts of the site require registration. After registration we retain personal data provided during registration in your profile, associated with your username. We retain this information so that you do not have to re-enter this data every time, and to enable us to contact you in the course of providing the service as well as for billing purposes.

If you do not supply the information marked as mandatory, certain parts of the service may remain inaccessible.

We will not supply your profile data to third parties unless this is necessary for the service or the law obligates us to do so. In case of fraud or abuse of the service we may provide profile data to the authorities or third parties that can show cause under the law.

To register on our website we may ask the following information:

  • Name and address information.
  • Telephone number.
  • E-mail address.
  • Date of birth.
  • Gender.
  • Nickname.
  • Profile picture.

We may publish the following information:

  • Your nickname, real name and contact e-mail address.
  • Your address information.
  • Your gender.
  • Your profile picture.

Provision to third parties.

We may provide your personal data to selected partners of ours. This however concerns only partners that are involved in the provision of the service. These partners may use the personal data for marketing purposes. This concerns the following personal data:

  • Name and address information.
  • Telephone number.
  • E-mail address.
  • Date of birth.


We use strict security procedures, among others to guard against unauthorized access to personal data. In particular we use secured connections (Secure Sockets Layer or SSL) to protect all transmissions of information between you and us during registration or when you provide personal or financial data.

We generate statistics on our service, which includes the ability to access individual personal data. We only do this insofar as this is necessary for the purposes mentioned in this privacy statement.

Use of cookies.

We use cookies on the service. Cookies are small text files that your browser leaves on your hard drive to recognize you as a repeat user of our website, to track your use of the service and to target advertising. When you decide to use our service without blocking or disabling cookies, you will indicate your approval to our use of these cookies and other technologies to our use.

If you do not approve to the use of these technologies, please be sure to block or disable them using your browser settings. Please be aware that blocking or disabling cookies may negatively affect the performance of the service for you.

In addition we may track your use of the service by using information supplied by your browser (passive fingerprinting).

We use cookies on our site for the following general purposes:

  • To identify your browser when you visit our site again, to save and remember preferences that you have indicated on your previous visit. For example: when you have registered on our site, the cookies ensure that we can remember your log-in data, so that you do not have to enter this information again and again.
  • To match your browsing experience and the content on our site to your needs. For example, when you visit a web page, we, our service providers or our partners automatically install a cookie to recognize your browser when using the internet so that we can show information that may be of interest to you.
  • To measure and document the effectiveness of certain functions, offers and electronic communications (by determining which e-mails you have opened and whether you clicked on a link in the e-mail message).

Web beacons.

Our site can also use web beacons (so-called invisible GIFs or invisible pixels). These are small digital images with a unique identifier, which work like cookies and are placed in the code of a web page. We use them to understand the browsing behavior of our users who open a page from another page of our site, to provide or send information to the cookies, but also to know if you reach our site through an online advertisement on a third site, and finally to improve the operation of our site. We can also allow our service providers to use web beacons to determine which e-mails have been opened by their recipients, and to track visitor traffic and their actions on our site. We do this to better measure the relevance of our content and the effectiveness of our offers.

Share features.

You can use share features of the service to invite others to try the service. The data you supply is not retained after sending the invitation. Neither you nor the friend you invite shall receive any form of reward for using this feature or for joining the service.

If you do not want to be invited with this feature, we offer a blacklist feature.

Third-party websites.

This privacy statement does not apply to third-party websites that are connected to this website using hyperlinks. We cannot guarantee that these third parties respect your privacy and recommend that you read their privacy statements before using these websites.

Updates to this privacy statement.

We reserve the right to update this privacy statement. We recommend regularly consulting this statement to remain informed about any updates.

Your rights.

In the 'Settings' section of your account, you can view, supplement and update the information you have provided. You can also close the account at Vraym in the 'Settings' section, or contact us via contact@vraym.nl. If you decide to close your account with Vraym, we will deactivate it and delete your profile information. Remember that after closing your account completely you can no longer log in, that you no longer have access to your personal data and that you can no longer use your videos. However, you can open a new account at any time.

According to the applicable laws and regulations you are entitled to inspect, rectify and delete your personal data, the right to limit the processing, the right to data transferability and the right to object to the processing of your personal data. You may also have the right to determine how your personal data will be used after your death and your rights will be exercised. Below you will find more details and information about how and when you can use these rights. We will respond to your request within a month but are entitled to extend that period by two months, taking into account the complexity and the number of requests.

You may have the following rights with regard to your personal data:

  • The right to access your personal data. You can use this right to receive a copy of the personal data we have collected about you and to check whether we process them according to the rules.
  • The right to improve your data if they are incorrect. You can also add incomplete data, taking into account the purposes of the processing.
  • The right to the removal of your personal data if: your personal data is no longer required for the purposes for which we collected or processed it; or you withdraw the permission if the processing of your personal data is based on your consent and no other legal basis exists; or you object to the processing of your personal data and we do not have prevailing justified grounds for the processing; or your personal data have been processed unlawfully; or your personal data must be deleted in order to comply with a legal obligation.
  • The right of objection against the processing of your personal data. We will comply with the request, unless we have a compelling legitimate ground for the processing or we must continue the processing in connection with the institution, exercise or substantiation of a legal claim.
  • The right to limit the processing of your personal data if: you dispute the accuracy of the personal data while we check the accuracy; or the processing is unlawful and you object to the erasure of your personal data and request the restriction of use instead; or we no longer need your personal data for processing purposes but you need it for legal action; or you have objected to the processing during the period we have at our disposal to check whether there are prevailing justified grounds.
  • The right to transfer data. You can request us to receive your personal data in a structured, standard and machine-readable form. You can also request us to transfer the personal data to a third party if this is technically possible. You have this right only with regard to personal data that you have provided to us, if the processing is based on permission or is necessary for the execution of an agreement between you and us, and the processing takes place automatically.
  • The right to give instructions for the use of your personal data and the exercise of your rights after your death. If we are informed of this death, we will delete your personal data unless we have to keep them in application of legal or regulatory provisions and / or legal retention periods, and in that case after the notification to a third party that you can appoint us.

You can exercise several of your rights through the 'Settings' section of your account. You can exercise other rights with an e-mail request to contact@vraym.nl.

You will not have to pay a fee to gain access to the personal data (or to exercise other rights). However, we can charge a reasonable fee if the request is clearly unfounded, repetitive or excessive.

To help us confirm your identity and ensure the exercise of your right to access your personal data (or other rights), we may request that you provide us with a copy of your identity document.

This is a security measure to ensure that personal data are not disclosed to a person who is not entitled to receive them. We may also contact you to request additional information about your request so that we can deal with it more quickly.

Right of inspection and saving data.

You have a right to inspect and correct your personal data. In most cases, you are able to do so yourself using your profile page. If you are having trouble using this feature or if you need other information changed, please contact us by using our contact page.

We may retain some data relating to your account, especially for analysis purposes or for our own records. The storage period of your personal data depends on the purpose for which we collect and use them.

We will not store your personal data for longer than is strictly necessary for the purposes stated in this statement or to comply with our legal obligations. For marketing purposes, the retention period is 3 years from the date of your last activity. We may retain certain personal data for a longer period of time, even after the close of your account, if necessary to meet our legal obligations or to ensure security, prevent fraud and exercise our legal rights, or to enforce. If you close your account, your personal data will usually no longer be visible to other visitors to our site within 14 days.

Removal of data is automatic upon termination of your account. However, we may retain profile data for statistical purposes. We will anonimize this data as much as possible. We may also share anonymous or aggregated data with third parties, such as advertisers and investors. For example, we can let our advertisers know the number of visitors to our site or which videos are most popular. This information does not contain any personal data.
